Hagop has served as an Automation Engineer and Data Analyst Intern with the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology, where he contributed to a national AI education initiative with Armenia’s Ministry of Education. He has also interned at Union Atlantic Ventures, supporting venture capital research, and at LowTech AI, focusing on applied machine learning and data systems. At Princeton, he was in the Entrepreneurship Club, the Energy Association, and the Armenian Society. Outside of her work with Afrovest, Serwaa has led and contributed to several youth-led projects centered on education, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment in Africa and the diaspora. With a strong background in both technical strategy and social impact, she is passionate about leveraging digital solutions to bridge resource gaps and connect underserved communities with opportunity. Serwaa is the founder of the Golden Boot Foundation, an initiative dedicated to providing African children with access to quality sports equipment and opportunities to pursue their athletic potential.     Frequently asked questions FAQ Who is eligible for the Afrovest conference? Afrovest is open to African entrepreneurs who meet the following criteria: Must be 18 years of age or older Operate a legally registered business within an African country Demonstrate consistent revenue and an active customer base Be beyond the idea stage, with a functioning product or service in the market Open to businesses at early or growth funding stages There is no restriction based on industry — we welcome a diverse range of ventures that are driving impact across the continent. How does the Afrovest application and selection process work? Applications for our programs open annually in the fall. To apply, click on the Apply menu at the top of the page. After submitting your application, selected candidates will be invited to send in financial document for verification and participate in a virtual interview to further assess their business model, impact, and readiness for the conference. Finalists will then be chosen based on their performance during the interview, the strength of their application, and alignment with Afrovest’s mission to empower high-potential African entrepreneurs. Successful applicants will be notified in early 2026 and provided with next steps for onboarding into the program and conference. The next application cycle runs from October 1, 2025 to January 31, 2026. Where will the 2026 Afrovest Conference be held? The 2026 Afrovest Conference is scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana on May 30th. Can I partner with Afrovest? Absolutely!     Emily Hove Board Emily Hove is an A.B. candidate in Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, where she focuses on global economic policy, governance, and systemic risk. She currently serves as Chief of Staff at Series and was a previous Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, advising organizations on strategic growth and operational transformation. Emily was also a United Nations Fellow with experience at UN-Habitat, supporting international initiatives that address urban sustainability and equity. At Princeton, she has conducted research at the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies and contributed to investment analysis for Business Today. As a first-generation and low-income scholar, she was a member of the Scholars Institute Fellows Program, Women in Economics and Policy, and Kappa Alpha Theta.
